Following her effortlessly cool comeback single, 'Gladly' which arrived back in May, 'Affection' is a tender new taste of Tirzah's long-awaited debut album Devotion. Written with childhood friend, long-term collaborator and all round musical genius Mica Levi, 'Affection' is a masterclass in emotional fragility. Delayed piano parts ring out gracefully over the low-key background noise of the city. Cars drive by and conversations take place but none of this detracts from Tirzah's calmly-delivered yet truly captivating vocals. The accompanying video is a simplistic depiction of these integral background noises, chopping and changing between clips of Tirzah making her way around London.
